Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is characterized by interactive interfaces that allow users to interact with each other and produce their own content. By now, we all know this to be the reality of the internet. From Youtube, to Instagram, to Reddit, to Wix, Web 2.0 has become an integral part of the reality of our internet. We are all used to it by now. The pseudo universe created in each of these websites, where we can interact while our physical bodies remain in completely opposite sides of the globe. The internet has truly become a Wold Wide Web of networks, databases, conversations, pictures, videos. SO MUCH CONTENT. Some might be overloaded by all the content that is available at our fingertips, but we the generation that has grown up used to it crave it, the connectivity. We use the internet so much some might say it's a global pandemic (bad joke I know). But seriously, when people all across the globe say that using the internet less could lower ANXIETY, that's when I know we are in trouble.

It's not all bad, though. We can use the internet in wonderful and engaging ways. For classes we can post discussions where we can interact with students whom we've never met. We can post a question on Reddit about a country that is lesser known and get an in depth response. You can use the internet to take polls, create documents, edit pictures, and browse art. So use the internet. Practice safe internet use, and learn more about the world around you.
